Our Mission:
To support communities, businesses, and governments in the training, education, and policy work needed to move toward a just and equitable circular economy. In support of our mission, Race to Zero Waste works to build local, national, and global campaigns through a network of community coalition leaders who are delivering the message of the circular economy through a variety of pop-up events, webinars, and workshops.
Race to Zero Waste’s campaign #ZeroWasteMonth happens annually in October
The metaphorical Race to Zero Waste is an ultra marathon. During Zero Waste Month, we turn the race into a SPRINT!
#ZeroWasteMonth is a global grassroots campaign that coalesces actions and ideas in order to encourage each other to dig a little deeper and make an extra effort. Each post inspires us with ideas and initiatives that we can support or begin to implement in our own communities. It also brings new people into the zero waste movement! Since we know there can be fluctuations in our motivation to keep going or to try out new things, #ZeroMonth is for sharing your efforts and getting excited about collective action!
Throughout #ZeroWasteMonth, we highlight expert voices and advocacy groups that are advancing the zero waste mission. We also discuss equity and accessibility concerns within the zero waste movement. To take the challenge and learn more visit, zerowastemonth.org.

R20W is in public spaces educating folks about Zero Waste!
Race to Zero Waste hosts our signature Zero Waste Pop-ups at events throughout San Francisco and the Bay Area. Zero Waste Station Pop-ups function as education stations for passers-by to learn more about sorting correctly in their area and reducing waste overall. Look for us at an event near you!
